About the Author

Alan Shearer was a goal-scoring machine in his prime, the first player to score 100, and 200 goals in the English Premier league, and still number one on the all time scoring charts. He was revered by the various clubs he played for, with his never- say-die attitude to the game. He has played with some of the greats of the English game over the past 15 years - Paul Gascoigne, John Barnes, Rio Ferdinand, Michael Owen, David Seaman, and of course, David Beckham. He was captain of England, and of his beloved club, Newcastle United for ten years, and was seen as a totemic influence for both. When he played well, they won, simple as that.

this is a really smart item, really well packaged and a must have for any member of the Toon Army.
The only thing i could find fault with was that the cover is Not hand stitched leather as states in the discription,But on the pluss side its silk and in the black & white stripes of newcastle...And With a ltd edt of only 500 copies hand signed by Shearer its sure to increase in value.
Pleased ive already got my copy.

The perfect present for a toon army fanatic
This limited edition book is the ideal present for any self respecting toon army fan. It is a high quality limited edition product which describes the rise of the toon army legend " Alan Shearer " , it also includes six high quality gloss prints of some of his best moments and comes personally signed by the great man himself.

This can only increase in value!
I bought three of these. One for myself and one each for my Brother-in-law and my nephew. The quality is nice and being Limited Edition, each set is individually numbered. It is NOT as the description states 'Leather Bound'. The Book is actually 'Silk' bound in Black and White Stripes with the famous Number 9 on the cover. This doesn't take anything away from the quality. In fact, the silk binding gives the book a look of Alan Shearer's Number 9 shirt which is rather a clever touch. As another reviewer has stated, it comes with the photographs which have a signature on them. The signatures (one on each photo), are 'printed' not original. The book however does have a hand written signature of Alan Shearer inside the front cover.

As well as telling the story of Alan Shearer, the Book is also full of photos from start to finish of Shearer at different stages of his life/career.

The book and photos come in a Black and White box which once again has the famous Number 9 printed on the front. This not only keeps everything nice and crisp but just adds to the set as a whole.

Newcastle United were relegated at the end of this Season. If Alan Shearer does continue in the role of Manager and he can steer the club back in to the Premiership, then the Legend of Alan Shearer can only grow and be carried on through to the new generation of Toon Army fans. That being the case and the fact that I have seen these sets listed and selling on eBay for over £100, means that this set can only increase in value!

Increase in value or not, this is a great collectors item and a must have for any Toon Army/Alan Shearer Fan. If you can find one, buy it!
