About the Author
Stephen L. Nelson, CPA, MBA (finance), MS (taxation), has a simple purpose in life: He wants to help you (and people like you) manage your business finances by using computers. Oh, sure, this personal mandate won’t win him a Nobel Prize or anything, but it’s his own little contribution to the world.
Steve’s experiences mesh nicely with his special purpose. He’s a CPA in Redmond, Washington. He’s an adjunct professor of taxation (S corporations and limited liability companies) at Golden Gate University graduate tax school. And, heck, he even used to work as a senior consultant and CPA with Arthur Andersen & Co. (er, yeah, that Arthur Andersen — but, hey, it was 20 years ago). Steve, whose books have sold more than 4 million copies in English and have been translated into 11 other languages, is also the bestselling author of Quicken 2008 For Dummies (Wiley).

Customer Reviews

OK for USA but not UK1
I was very disappointed to find that this book is aimed at the American market and has not been converted for use in UK.
Everything is in dollars and not pounds and it talks about "Internal Revenue Service" and how to write a "check" (not cheque).
Nothing specific about VAT or UK legislation, indeed, nothing at all!.
It would not have taken a great deal of effort to edit this book to make it UK friendly and it is a pity that there is nothing in any of the descriptions about the book to show that it is written for the USA market.

UNSUITABLE for UK Quickbooks1
This book DOES NOT support the UK edition of QuickBooks, a fact which vendors in the UK should make clear. Never mind the spelling, grammar and humour, some of the software differs between the different legal and tax jurisdictions.

Not fully compatible with 2006 versions1
If you are upgrading from 2006 it does not tranfer any templates or memorised reports. You will have to create them all again from scratch!
