Hmmmm.....
I'm thinking that maybe a lot of information is maybe American?, or another style of riding?! I, like the reviewer above, have been taught completely differently, and have been doing it that way for a very long time! I think if i left a foot in a stirrup when dismounting it wouldn't go down very well, with horse or any other rider! However, the 'Horses for Dummies' book is quite good!

Not sure how much is correct?...
Bought this to help me get up to speed for my riding lessons. I'm left more confused than ever ... it says you should hold the reins with palms facing down (pg 159)and dismount with left foot in the stirrup (pg 149)- both things I have been taught differently. Can't say how much else is accurate or not as I don't know - which is why I purchased the book in the first place!
