a pleasure to listen to and look at5
there are those who like ipod and there are a few faithful md fans who have stuck by sony. this player is truely a joy, sound quality is amazing, and looks wise you just cant beat it. Hang it round ur neck using the metal hole on one side of the player and people are more interested in it than an ipod! most peeps have ipods, this is something quite special

downside, its not compatable with hi-md the new replacement system as of august this year, if you want even better sound quality and even larger capactity md's hold out till september and buy yourself a hi-md walkman!!!

The daddy of all playable minidiscs5
Before I got the MZ-E10 I knew it was impressive in weight, size and functions. But it still shocked me in these categories when i held it in me hands and used it.

It is so light you would think its a cheap, "does does the job" player. Dont be fooled by this. Its got more functions than I need, which really surprised me as I expect a lot from a minidisc player to be flexible in what it can do.

Just make sure you are a type of person who looks after things well. As I have a feeling it would break if you take its robustness for granted.

    Good........ but Beware!!2
Yes, this player produces a great sound. And yes, it looks fantastic, it is by far the most impressive looking portable minidisc player out there. But there in lies its major flaw. DO NOT buy this player under the impression that as its out casing is metal, not plastic, it will be more durable. NO, quite the opposite. Where plastic will flex and return to it former glory, metal will dent, and dent it does (and has), its totally unrepairable. Its pretty easy to scratch too.

But its not just the aesthstics which are a problem. The link between the in-line remote and the player is very unreliable, often producing 'crackles' and 'pops', leaving just 'snaps' for that perfect breakfast cereal full-house.

Then theres the fact that mine now refuses to play a disk all the way through, without pausing the music at some point to whirr and click at me until i give up on it, yes its also stubborn.

AND temperamental. Shake it around, sure. Hold it upside-down and throw it to a friend, no problem. It'll keep on going without a single skip. But have it in your pocket while you stroll to the shops, and you'll soon wish it was dead. No, Its not alive, but you'll sure wish it was dead.

I have now returned mine to Sony twice and its still not right. So to sum it up, if youre looking for a cool looking player which sounds great, and has more features than the Pope has had hot dinners (or something) definately DO get this one. Just make sure you've got your cushioned protective box to hand when you want to move it around.
