A vampire warrior who yearns for death...Three hundred years ago, Sebastian Wroth's brothers forced him to become a vampire-a nightmare in his mind. Shamed and alone for ages, he longs to die. Until an exquisite creature comes to kill him, inadvertently saving him instead. A beautiful assassin dispatched to destroy him...When Kaderin the Cold Hearted lost her two beloved sisters long ago, a benevolent force deadened her sorrow-accidentally extinguishing all of her emotions. Yet whenever she encounters the vampire with his grave eyes, her feelings-particularly lust-emerge multiplied. For the first time, she's unable to complete a kill. The prize is a key powerful enough to resurrect her sisters. Not understanding the key's import, Sebastian hinders her against other opponents by using her new feelings to seduce her and earn her love. But when Kaderin is forced to choose between finally killing Sebastian and reuniting her family, how can she live without either...?

Adventure, passion, fascinating characters: great
You've gotta love Kresley Cole as a fantasy author. She certainly knows how to make characters lovable and fascinating. Our boy, little brother to Nicholai Wroth, is Sebastian. He's been skulking about this old castle (a bit like Angel after he got back his soul), scaring some ignorant villagers and Kaderin, the Cold Hearted Valykerie comes to end his torment.
Anyway, Kaderin finds that she cannot kill this beautiful vampire, and the next thing you know, he's been blooded (read the book to find out what I mean!) and passion explodes between them. Kaderin flees rather than face her feelings, but Sebastian is determined and very intelligent, and comes after her. Sebastian is quite wonderful as modest, clever, determined and very sexy.
Kaderin has entered an exciting race, with all sorts of Lore creatures and immortals, to win a prize that could save her sisters' lives and the way Sebastian helps her without ever making feel incapable is very cool.
There's a great subplot with the gorgeous Bowen, the werewolf friend of Lachlain from A Hunger Like No Other. It's the next book, and I'm waiting eagerly for this installment.
Don't miss it. Packed full with humour, adventure, passion and characters you just want to read more of.
Wow
First things first if you are thinking of buying this book , stop now if you haven't already read A hunger like no other. These books can be read alone, but you will not enjoy the book half so much, if you haven't read the first. I would advise you to buy them both together , because if your anything like me then it'll save you having to get fast track delivery for the next one!.
I absolutely LOVED this second book of the series.Kresley Cole has now earned a place on my fantastic romantic writers list. This book does not dwell on the "love scenes" as much as in the first book , but they are every bit as steamy and wonderfully woven into a great plot. I loved the whole Hie game (which is a competition all the Lore can enter hosted by a goddess)running throughout. Kresley Cole doesn't patronise the reader in this book and has naturally moved on from "A hunger like no other" where she concentrated on and explained the drawing needs of finding your one true love as an immortal. With that established she moves on with her plot , in this book weaving in her characters from the first book brilliantly. Although she concentrates on the relationship between the two main characters , you find yourself being interested in Bowen and other characters and I cant wait to find out what happens to him , in her next book.
Was sorely disapointed to learn that this hasnt already been published but it'll be worth the wait im sure.
As good and more indepth than the first!
I bought both Kresley Coles dark immortal series books together (A Hunger like no other and No rest for the Wicked) and I'm really pleased I did as it was the best 3 days I've spent reading in a long long time! I had never read any books previously by this author and noticed the 5 star fiasco between both pages and thought it would be worth a shot - and it really was!
It's hard to define which book was my favourite as they were both very different which I found to be incredibly refreshing!
In this book, 'No rest for the wicked' we see a Valkyrie and a Vampire story unfold (bearing in mind Vampire's are the enemy of the Valkyrie), but it wasn't just all about getting in the sack to put it mildly, the sub plot was exciting and riveting with the Valkyrie entering a series of challenges to win a very special prize at the end that can make her change series of events that happened in the past. Think Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire but the tasks are 20 times deadlier and no kids allowed! ;) Yes, the passion is hot and the Vampire male is loveable. I would have happily pulled him out the book if I could and claimed him myself!
This series is a great one to start with if you love all things supernatural and passionate! I'm a big fan of Sherrilyn Kenyon's Dark Hunter series too, and so if you like them books, you'll like these I'm sure!
Can't wait for the next book in this series!
