Editorial Reviews

DVD Description
Created by Witold Swietnicki and Krzysztof Jaworski, The Naked takes place in an office where the characters are some clerks. Their life is full of dangers as a lot can happen in the working hours of an office: a dog can bite us, they can be giving away tinned knuckle in the social department, a phone operator from the room next door can drop in for some gossip, someone can get an electric shock, you can have some coffee, listen to the radio, watch TV, finally someone can blow up the whole office by mistake. The characters in The Naked are not professional actors, but normal people placed in an abnormal situation. The idea is mad but intriguing with everything looking normal - desks, phones, gossip, tea, coffee – but the clerks and customers are naked, raising all sorts of questions about our attitudes to nakedness and inter-office relationships.

Synopsis
As if there isn't plenty of material to discuss dynamics in the workplace, THE NAKED - A PSYCHOLOGICAL STUDY throws another weirdism into the mix: nakedness. Polish director Witold Swietnicki uses non-actors, in other words, real people, to play both the parts of company representatives and customers to address issues to do with our feelings towards nakedness. People behave differently when they are nude, and the results are revealing, shocking and, perhaps, liberating.

The Naked is very different and shocking 4
The Naked (Golasy) is very different and there is something very shocking about it. All of the people in this movie are naked. This includes both women and men -- young, old, fat and lean. It is a story about office workers and their usual and unusual daily activities. All of the events in this Polish film take place in one day, mostly in a one-room office.

The Naked creates a strong feeling like you are watching theater. Considering that this is the first film all the actors stared in, I was impressed that they created this feeling. Even though they are amateurs, they didn't appear to be shy or distracted by each other's nudity. The viewer, on the other hand, will have quite a hard time not being distracted.

Even though everyone in this film is naked, there is no sex. They act like each other's nudity is normal and may comment on another's appearance, but their comments are not erotic. In a way, The Naked comes closer to resemble art than it does pornography because it takes this approach.

The women in the office don't do much real work but chatter and gossip away all day. A few women and several men, who bring the drama with them, visit our "hard working" office girls. The events that ensue range from the mundane to the ridiculous but most of what they do is funny.

I have to give The Naked a lot of credit for being original. It's a very funny movie that made my face hurt from laughing and smiling so much. If you are looking for something very different, enjoy the theater or ever wondered what the world would look like if no one wore clothes, then The Naked is for you. All in all, it is a very shocking film filled with a lot of humor.

dull dull dull1
An uninteresting low buget no clothes no thrills film
I liked the idea but it falls short of entertainment as it must be hard to find nudist actors that can act.

absolute crappe1
This is the worst film I have ever seen. The dialogue is terrible, the self-conscious performances terrible, everything about it is terrible.
