Customer Reviews

I shall keep this book always 5
This book contained the short, sharp shock I needed to change the way I was spending. It has helped me get out of debt within one year and gave me the confidence and advice I needed when speaking to nasty debt collection companies. Her amazing saving tips helped soften the blow too. Jane Furnival has a no-nonsense approach which makes everything very easy to understand and apply to your own circumstances. A book on this subject could so easily be dull and full of facts and figure but this book provides straightforward, practical advice with heaps of humour.

I saved money using this book5
A source of really useful basic information relating to everyday day stuff such as postage costs, gas bills and cutting the cost of Christmas. I received this book as a gift three weeks and have already saved loads of money. I have also lent it to my mum to read certain chapters. It has advice for everyone regardless of their age or situation. Even rich people can discover smarter ways to use their cash. Highly recommend to anyone wanting quick and simple - and often funny - money fix.

Witty, sharp and helpful5
Best thing about this book is the way in which that it reveals that, for most of us at least, spending too much money is a matter of psychology and that we need to put value on other things, rather than shopping for status. Easy to say, hard to do! Also good on the games couples and families play when they use money to show they are the big provider, or the one who wants to stay as a child. Writer shows a far warmer and more thoughtful personality than on the slightly crass TV show, which could have been so much better with a bit of warmth rather than gotcha-type cruelty. Spending a couple of quid here could turn your life around in more ways than just with money. Oh - and it's funny too.
