Product Description

Peter was a confirmed loner and cat hater, until he was given a small, grey (and impeccably handsome) kitten with folded ears by his then girlfriend. The girlfriend went but Norton stayed - in fact, he and Peter became inseparable. Trotting along beside him down the street, having his own chair in restaurants or sitting on Peter's lap on plane journeys, Norton made his presence felt and Peter was a loner no more. But, after learning how to love his cat, would Peter now learn how to love another human too?

Customer Reviews

the cat who seduced everyone who knew him, including me!5
i picked up this book at the airport before a 4hour flight to the canaries.... the stranger next to me on the plane had to put up with my giggles, outright guffaws, and tear wiping for the whole journey. after about 2hours she asked what i was reading, i showed her, and dont think she was a cat lover cos she couldnt understand how the book could be that funny... believe me, if you like animals (particularly cats) this is a 'must read'!!!! also helped me get over the loss to diabetes of my norwegian forest cat, fatty\homer, all 26lbs of him. he too was a legend, the only cat anyone ever knew who could sit quite happily by my side in a vets waiting room full of dogs and other critters, one time went nose-to-nose with a big golden retriever, even the dog gave him respect for his lack of fear.... all in all, an emotional journey, well written, about the relationship between a cat and his slave/owner... loved it, so did my girlfriend, and mum

Fall In Love with Norton3

A very short book that tells the story of Norton, the Scottish Fold kitten that Peter Gether's girlfriend Cindy bought for him - despite the fact that he 'hates cats'.

It takes Norton around 15 minutes to make Peter fall in love with him - their relationship lasts far longer than Peter's relationship with Cindy - and the reader falls for Norton immediately too.

Norton is no ordinary cat, he accompanies Peter on walks into town, he sits at the table whilst he is eating out - he travels in aeroplanes and even goes skiing!

A very simply told story - with little emotion but quite a bit of humour. Peter Gethers is not the best writer, and sometimes I felt as though I'd like to know a little more about the whole relationship, rather than just about Norton's escapades.

In all though, a quick and warming read that I enjoyed.

Dissapointing2
The first chapter held promise but it became very mundane and skip read the last couple of chapters
