An eye-opener4
Years of research and a driving passion. Novelist Hans Reusch turns his attention to the medical industry with a book that shook the world.

Animal experiments have been accepted as neccesary by many for generations, Reusch argues otherwise. Step by step, he attacks the process on many angles, and it crumbles. Wow.

The morality is questioned with interludes into behaviour and states of being of animals that question their difference from us. The nature of the experiments and the mindset of some of the experimenters makes sickening reading.

The main thrust of the book is that animals are different from humans. Examples of species difference and the effects of this are the result of meticulous research spanning years of intense work. The results are shocking as the true cost to human patients is unfolded and the scale and severity of human suffering attributable to vivisection become clear. The agreement of many doctors and researchers is catalogued. A real revelation to many.

Only 4 stars because it is now dated, and surpassed by books by Dr Tony Page and Dr C Ray Greek among others, but this is solid, comprehensive, very readable and fully referenced and medically valid. One of those few books that everyone should read.

Slaughter of the Innocent5
This book has really changed my life! If you are truely dedicated to seeing the end of vivisection it's important you read Slaughter of the Innocent. Hans Ruesch I would consider to be the 'father' of anti-vivisection. If by chance you've already read Slaughter of the Innocent, you need to read the follow-up book Naked Empress... also check out www.bava.org.uk
