 | Left 4 Dead 2 (PC DVD)
Buy new: £24.99 Valve do it yet again!!. Even better than last years original, this is co-op gaming at it's finest. The introduction of melee weapons is an inspired move.

 | Supreme Commander (PC)
Buy new: £4.99 / Used from: £2.41 This is probably the greatest RTS of the modern era. HUGE battles raging across multiple screens, it really is breath-taking. This game shows a glimpse of where the RTS is going.

 | Portal (PC DVD)
Buy used from: £24.00 After many hours of Oblivion & Supreme Commander, you may need a little rest-bite. This game is perfect, it only lasts about 6 hours but beleive me, you won't mind a bit. Absolute genius.

 | Bioshock (PC DVD)
Buy new: £12.73 / Used from: £4.48 A spiritual brother to the seminal System Shock, this is story-telling at it's finest in any videogame. Special mention must go the setting and a cut-scene towards the end that is stunning.

 | Sid Meier's Civilization IV: Complete (PC DVD)
Buy new: £7.54 / Used from: £5.98 Sid Meier has spent his life perfecting this masterpeice. Civ IV is the best in the series and I beleive 'Beyond The Sword' to be one of the great expansion packs. Don't buy this if you enjoy sleeping

Buy new: £10.96 / Used from: £6.99 A great companion peice to Civ IV. This game is taking the strategy genre to new areas, and it comes up trumps.

 | Dragon Age: Origins (PC)
Buy new: £18.64 / Used from: £14.23 This is as perfect an introduction to the murky world of the CRPG genre as you could hope for. Great storytelling and characters make for a game that will be replayed for years to come. Superb

Buy new: £46.47 / Used from: £5.49 Worth buying for the nano-suit alone, truly a superb creation. This is very system hungry but don't worry if you can't play it on the highest settings, beleive me your not alone!!!.

Buy new: £52.67 / Used from: £20.00 A very good single-player campaign, but it is in multi-player that this game shows its true greatness. I've lost countless hours to this game, and I've sruck up many a great friendship. Essential.

Buy new: £17.14 / Used from: £11.95 A suprisingly good port for the Xbox 360 game. If you can get past the security checks, there lies a superb RPG with an involving story and superb characters. Shephard's kinda dull though.

Buy new: £20.99 / Used from: £11.00 Game of 2008 in my humble opinion. The spiritual heir to 'Oblivion', this is one of the deepest and most rewarding games I've ever had the privelage of experiencing. BUY THIS GAME

 | The Witcher Enhanced Edition (PC)
Buy used from: £23.97 One of the best modern RPG's. The Witcher is a world of corrupt and racist bigots who inhabit a stark & beautiful realm. Anyone who is interested in game story-telling should make this their next buy.

 | World in Conflict (PC DVD)
Buy used from: £3.99 Another great modern RTS. Probably the most exhilerating in the genre. Not very strategic, but the overall experience more than makes up for it.

 | Company of Heroes (PC DVD)
Buy new: £4.95 / Used from: £0.78 Same as above really. Not the best for strategic purposes but it really does draw you in with it's pacing and level of involvement. The WWII setting does'nt even hinder it.

 | Deus Ex: Premier Range (DVD Packaging)
Buy used from: £0.87 O.K, you've now played the best that the modern PC has to offer, so now it's time to check out some classics. If your a fan of The X Files then you must buy this game. FPS at its very best.

Buy new: £4.39 / Used from: £2.96 Still arguably the finest in the Total War cannon. Rome was revolutionary when it was first released and it has lost none of it's appeal. If using a moderate machine make this your first purchase.

Buy new: £10.99 / Used from: £9.90 I was debating whether to include this or Neverwinter Nights, this won by a hair. This was my first time playing an RPG and it still holds many great memories for me.
