A marvellous book well deserving of its awards. I was worried that very young children would be scared of the Gruffalo but there is something lovable about him.

This is the first Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler book I bought. The story has beautiful rhymes and illustrations and a clever ending.

The book has a message about sharing. There is lots of humour though with Julia’s trademark clever plot and marvellous illustrations.

An amusing tale explaining the difference between night and day. Children love the monkeys. It teaches us to be content with what we have got and to accept the differences between each other.

A tale in which the underdog triumphs. The book has a clever premise for his success. I didn’t particularly like the colour palette, it was a bit dull.

A simple story about sharing. It has great rhythm and rhyme and very pretty illustrations by Lydia Monks

A lovely story for older readers. I particularly liked the glitter version. Little girls into pink and princesses will love it. It has Julia’s usual clever plot.

A great lift the flap book for younger children. It doesn’t have the rollicking storyline of other Julia Donaldson/Axel Scheffler books but kids will find the flaps fun.

Another book I haven’t read but it has received very good reviews. I will buy it in time.
