Customer Reviews
Straightforward and understandable
To my thinking this book is the nearest one can get to a "Plain English" guide to diabetes and is suitable for both newly diagnosed and longer term cases. Clear, straightforward and to the point plus written in conjunction with Diabetes UK - the UK's leading diabetes charity. I have no hesitation in recommending this book - a good read with plenty of value for all patients.
A very useful guide
This is, in my opinion, the best guide to Diabetes available. It answers many of the questions that occur after you have visited your diabetes clinic, the sort of questions you ask on the way home, 'I wish I'd asked her that', 'I forgot to ask about this', etc.. The practical advice is invaluable. The author doesn't talk down to you, unlike several other books.
I hope that Dr. Hillson will produce an updated version; for example, the section on types of insulin is now outdated, but most of it is as useful and as relevant as the day it was published.
Good.
This book is very good, definitely one to try, but not the best I have seen.
