Editorial Reviews

Amazon.co.uk Review
Neale Donald Walsch grew up fearing God, especially after his mother, a neighbourhood mystic, was caught reading cards for a friend. His mother was "trafficking with the devil", according to Walsch's deeply religious aunt, and as a result, "God will send her straight to hell".

That was the start of a relationship born of "fearship," as Walsch calls it. In Friendship with God, Walsh speaks to the struggles he's had learning to see God as a true friend rather than a punishing judge. Like his immensely popular Conversations with God series, Friendship with God is written mostly in dialogue format, modelling how anyone can converse with God. What makes the book especially accessible is Walsch's humble voice that gently addresses most people's confusion and doubts. For example, Walsch talks about feeling squeamish that God knows the shameful secrets of his life. In response, God points out that Walsch has shared his dark secrets with friends and lovers. So why not share these truths with God, who has never judged or punished him, and never will? These types of tender and reassuring conversations give readers the courage to begin their own private dialogues with the divine.--Gail Hudson

The best of the Conversations With God books.5
Fantastic! Having read all of the extraordinary international best-selling Conversations With God books several times over, Friendship With God remains my favourite. The majority of the content is a reiteration of the first three books of the series, but as the title suggests, the tone here is more informal. This is, literally, how to have a friendship with God.

Most of the book is in dialogue form. However, Neale Donald Walsch shares considerably more of his background and life history than in other books in the series. I found this added to my already profound appreciation of all the CWG books. Not surprisingly, Mr. Walsch has had a very, very wide range of life experiences, including working with the dying with Elisabeth Kubler-Ross, involvements with radio, television, advertising and a period of time spent virtually living on the streets.

The last few chapters are particularly well written and build up to an enlightening climax that is well worth repeated reading. In Friendship With God, Walsch has continued his mission to "give people back to themselves" superbly. The New Gospel of "WE ARE ALL ONE. OURS IS NOT A BETTER WAY, OURS IS MERELY ANOTHER WAY" is yet another example of the deceptively simple, powerful, revolutionary truths presented in all the Conversations With God books.

A practical bible5
Not traditionally a religious person, but an individual with a thirst to grow and develop spiritually, this is the most profound book I have ever read (and continue to read). It has helped me in so many ways, its next to impossible to describe how. But read the book and take what you can from it. Then, when the time comes, read it again and take even more!

thanks neale.5
philosophy? new age religion? probebly both. 'friendship with god' is a wonderful story, told in first person (the writer [thank you neale. god bless you!]) about a developing relationship between two subject who, constantly, become one.
the relationship grows to a closnes/bond as both (one!) finish each other sentences and helping, together, to choose which words will describe a certain idea. and the ieas are flowing . i whole heartly recomend this book, and, when you finished look out for more books by the same writer. enjoy!
