An Excellent Bible Study Guide
What did the writer of 1 Peter mean when he said, "Your adornment must not be merely external ... but ... the imperishable quality of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is precious in the sight of God"? For years, Christian women have fought the idea that having "a gentle and quiet spirit" means "sitting down and shutting up." In "Putting on a Gentle and Quiet Spirit," Elizabeth George explores the true message of 1 Peter - which is NOT about "sitting down and shutting up." It's about choosing to follow in the footsteps of Messiah, who put aside every bad attitude, submitted to the authority of God and suffered without "reviling" or cursing. Elizabeth George makes it clear that having a gentle and quiet spirit is about having a right heart attitude before God! This topic and the many treasures within 1 Peter are explored in this Bible Study Guide, which I recommend without hesitation. It's one of my favourite Bible Study Guides - one that I know I'll use again and again and share with friends.
