Wind Strategy (3rd Edition) NEW!
David Houghton & Fiona Campbell
New colour edition!!
From the Author
Writing the 3rd edition of Wind Strategy with David Houghton was a pleasure, as I myself grew up reading it. We have spent a lot of time applying colour to the diagrams to bring the wind & weather to life, and to assist in understanding the seemingly complicated processes.
Emphasis has been placed on applying theory to practice; how you can, as a racer or cruising sailor use the wind to your advantage any where in the world. Around 25 worked examples help to deomnstrate how to do this.

Customer Reviews
Wind Strategy - an excellant read
This book - complete with colour diagrams is the best book on wind strategy I have read. I particularly like the sections at the end that give practical examples of wind strategy in locations around the world.
Wind Strategy
A fantastic book, written in plain English with easy to understand concepts for novices through to Olympic sailors. Detail builds throughout the book and many meteorological concepts are visited, with the best sea breeze explanation I have ever read. The new edition of colour diagrams and venues make it a must for any sailor looking to improve their performance on the water.
Excellent guide to short range wind prediction for sailing
This is a really good, clean concise guide to wind behaviour and prediction in coastal areas over short time frames, i.e. the typical conditions under which sailing races are held. It contains the only accurate description of how the sea breeze forms and behaves that I've ever read. Worth buying and reading for that alone. Lots of other good stuff in there too, e.g. katabatic and anabatic winds, wind behaviour on lakes, etc. Will improve your racing much more than buying a new headsail.
