Customer Reviews

Good writing, good walks, great book4
This is a really good guidebook for walking in the Brecon Beacons, I've followed quite a lot of the routes and they have been easy to follow and greatly rewarding. The rating system works well and makes it easy to pick an appropriate walk regardless of ability, time constraints or anything else. This could be the perfect book for people who want to get to know the area a bit more by following some well thought out routes before planning their own walks, as by the time you get to the hardest walks you get experience some thrilling moments (especially the final assent up Pen Y Fan from the North ridge in walk 32!) and beautiful wild scenery. The writing is style is warm with the author's fondness for the area really shining through and for such a small book it's amazing how much fascinating background information is crammed in. All in all this is a great book, highly recomended.
