Very useful!
I found this book very useful indeed as a reference or reminder for our wonderful food. You may be a beginner or polishing skills or simply wanting to broaden your home menu. The recipes are clear and easy to follow. They even tell you how to clean fish! Nothing is taken for granted.
Good recipes and easy to follow instructions.
I waited for this book with high expectations and those expectations weren't dispelled when i received it. There are ghanaian dishes aplenty to try out and each recipe is simple to follow. I had already cooked some of foods in the book before, such as jollof rice and the black eyed bean stew , but it was nice to see a different way this could be done and the different seasonings which could be used.
The book begins with an introduction to ghana and her people and then starts with various traditional soups such as palm nut and also peanut butter, it then goes on to stews such as spinach(kontomereh)and egusi and rice dishes like jollof. The book also includes a desert section with dishes you can make with plantain (kelewele) and also bofloat which is doughnuts. At the end there is a section which details all the adinkra symbols and their meanings, just for your information.
Overall I found this a good book if you are just beginning to cook ghanaian dishes and even if you are pretty good at it already. I would recommend it. My sister looked at the book and asked me to order her a copy!!.
