Customer Reviews

Not that great for complete beginners3
This book isn't highly recommeded for absolute beginners, as some of the methods described are more wordy than pictorial.

You have to work a lot out for yourself, using trial and error and other resources. For example, how to do intarsia (adding coloured areas) knitting isn't explained very well, just a small box at bottom of page, but then follows onto a project to make a wonderful lovehearts throw?

The projects do look good, but I feel are a bit advanced and too large for a beginner.

I can safely say that I have learned more from other books, even kid's books.

Excellent Stitch Source4
Although I haven't tried the designs yet, I was extremely impressed by the extensive range of stitches which were included. It was far more than the many other beginner's books I had seen.

Fabulous Bags - Make Great Gifts!5
Fantastic book! First of all I thought I had made a mistake by purchasing the American version of the book. However, the author ensures that both terms are used throughout, so us Brits don't get confused!

Truely inspirational! The author even takes time out to teach some basic design techniques in GREAT detail, which I have failed to master with other books (including several beginner's guides), i.e. intarsia (adding coloured areas).

Highly recommended, easy to follow patterns to make funky and modern bags, and this is coming from a fairly new knitter... now the only question is, which bag to knit first?

PS The paperback version is published in the UK.
