Preparing for Windows 7
Bought this to upgrade my daughter's Dell Dimension 1100 ready for Windows 7. It is one of the few suitable cards with a PCI (NOT PCI express) interface. I found good advice on BIOS and Windows settings at "techspot.com". Armed with this, the Installation proved quite straightforward.
I then ran Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor which confirmed this card's compatibility.
Tricky to install, but works fine
I bought this product to fit into a Dell Dimension 3000 and, although it was tricky to install and took a bit of searching around the internet for advise it works well and allows me to play the games I wanted it to.
Great graphics card for bringing an old desktop back to life!
I have a 6-year old e-machine desktop in the living room and have decided to take the plunge to upgrade all the hardware possible on the motherboard before installing Windows 7 Professional on to it.
Looked around for a decent PCI graphics card as all newer computers are PCI-Express compliant. So this graphics card popped under the radar that is compatible with my motherboard.
Googled and read all the reviews and forums pertaining to this graphics card before buying to see the compatibility with Windows 7 - particularly the much hyped Aero effects.
Installed no problems on to XP first and upon install of Windows 7 Professional - Aero originally did not work. However going to the nVidia Driver website, I downloaded and installed the Windows Vista Driver and voila - Aero is now up and running on my new LG 18.5" LCD screen - very crisp and sharp! Also with the added option of a running dual monitors if required!
Would definitely recommend for brining an old PC back to life!
