The recording format is AVCHD, which can be used to burn Blu-ray DVD disks. Two hours of HD recordings, recorded at 5 Mbits/sec, can be burnt onto a standard 4.7 GByte DVD-R or DVD-RW disk for playback on a Blu-ray DVD player.
The HD PVRs amazing recording quality allows personal archival of your favorite high definition TV programs from any component video HD set top box. Hi resolution recordings Xbox 360 and PS3
I have connected the HDPVR to my Xbox and PS3 and recorded some game play in my laptop (VAIO vgn-z591u), it was really nice HD video and good audio quality.
One advice before recording from any system change the video settings to be ether at 1080i or 720p. Not 1080p because the HDPVR doesn't support it.
A really useful piece of kit
Although this is aimed at PC users, it works perfectly on the Mac with the latest version of Elgato's eyeTV software.
Very Good product
I use the HD PVR to record video games. It works very well but you need a good computer to record something ok.
