Manufacturer's Description

Touch Pro2

Business success depends on human interaction. You can often get more done with a quick phone call or a face to face meeting than you can in strings of emails. So why do all business phones seem to ignore the importance of calls? The Touch Pro2 treats your calls with as much care and attention as your messages.

Straight Talk™ - Speakerphone Innovation

HTC’s Straight Talk makes communication more natural, intuitive and effective. It is a way to seamlessly transit from email to a single or multi-party calls as well as a flawless means to complete conference bridge calls. The innovation is completed by dual microphone and speakers that turn your mobile into a professional quality speakerphone by the simple action of placing your phone face down on the table.

Speak Out When It Matters

Sometimes your opinion needs to be read, but sometimes it demands to be heard. The Touch Pro2 is equipped with a spacious keyboard that makes it breeze to get your message out. But when written word is not enough, it only takes one touch to respond to an email with the urgency of a phone call.

Get all the key stakeholders involved. If they were in on the email, then simply tap next to their image icon to get them in on the call. The HTC Touch Pro2 helps make it easy to share your ideas with all the people that matter.

Speakerphone Innovation

Nothing ruins a conference call faster than not being able to hear what is said, or make yourself heard. The HTC Touch Pro2, featuring Straight Talk™ technology, puts crystal-clear sound quality and voice reception at the core of its design. In fact, it is a palm-size professional conference phone with a loudspeaker and dedicated noise-cancelling microphone that delivers superior quality conference calls.

Conference Calls … Made Easy

Before today, the simple task of multi-party calling required the nimblest of maneuvering around your phone menus. Now, HTC Touch Pro2 introduces a new worry-free interface that makes multi-party calling as easy as tapping on your contacts.

That’s not all, even if you are traveling and need to join a conference bridge back in the home office … the Touch Pro2 will ensure that you connect without delay. Appointment reminders will conveniently cue up the phone number and PIN, ready for you to press … you won’t miss out on the latest strategy changes back in the HQ.

    Touch Me5
This is just a brief overview, nothing too technical!

Now HTC is a company that i've previously avoided up until now. The reason why was simple - i didn't know how good or how well made their devices were/are. I've worked in mobile phone and satellite receiver manufacturing environment for many years now and always look at how well things are put together when i buy them. I'm pleased to announce that the HTC Touch Pro 2 is a very well made device. It's nice and weighty at approx 176g? or something around there. The built in slide-out QWERTY keyboard is a contributor to it's bulk, which i like - heavy phones to me mean good materials in its construction. The screen can tilt slightly at an angle for better viewing when using the keyboard. Keys are well spaced and responsive which makes fast emailing or texting. Of course you can use the included stylus for input or just the old finger will do. Without getting too technical, this runs Windows Mobile 6.1 professional but its been skinned so well that you hardly notice its famed unfriendliness. Everything runs easily enough for me, but i'm not using this to its full potential. The camera is 3.2 megaP with auto focus and takes fantastic looking photos when viewed on the huge screen. When viewing them on the screen you can use a handy zoom bar to zoom into the image, of course, using your finger (or stylus). There is no radio. It has GPS, Opera Browser, PowerPoint Mobile, Google Maps to name just a few random programs. You can literally flick text messages off the incredible high-res screen with your fingertip when you've read them, drag images around to your liking, and when you receive a call you slide a virtual switch to 'answer' or 'reject'.
The build quality like i said earlier is excellent. The only minor problem i have with the phone is having to remove the back cover to change Micro SD cards. Still, it doesn't really matter enough to affect the five star rating.
Provided accessories include a leather case, spare stylus and screen protector.

So summing this up i'd say that this is a premium pocket PC phone although worthy of the asking price, and if you must touch something new, try touching this.

Best Phone I Have Used For Years5
Well where do i start after purchasing a Touch Pro 2 and an Acer M900 i was expecting to be let down a bit by both after being a blackberry man having the curve and storm recently i love how easy they are to use.

Unboxing this phone i was surprised at how shiny and solid this phone really is the slide out QWERTY is the best i have ever seen with the keys being generously spaced.

Once switched on you get a beautifully crisp and clear image on the screen. Once it had finished setting itself up it was instantly ready to perform and boy did it.

I thought i would start with testing out the keyboard it is awesome i was able to, with the spacing of the keys get some very quick typing speeds similar to that on a normal PC keyboard.

Touchflow 3D is awesome however i installed SPB Mobile Shell which is even better.

Overall i really love this device and would recommend it to anyone looking for a windows mobile device in my eyes i could see this phone becoming a netbook killer as you can do everything on here as you can on a netbook with the bundled office apps and internet explorer it makes for a truly mobile office experience.

    A true iphone beater.

Well done HTC you have excelled with this one.

Fantastic device, but not quite what I expected4
This is a lovely, lovely device - feels like a really great quality piece of kit, the screen is large & crystal clear and it does in my opinion live up to the hype. I've only had mine for a few days but there are a couple of things I've discovered that I wasn't expecting:

Outlook Business Contact Manager does not sync properly with this device (or indeed with many others running WM 6.1 as far as I can tell); the text comes out squashed & you can't specify which categories you wish to sync
Mine does NOT have the FM radio the specs showed
The headphones which come with the device are the very basic 'listening only' variety (i.e. you can't use them to answer a phone call and need to pay extra for headphones with this facility)
Some of the applications I was hoping to run (TomTom Navigator 7, BBC iPlayer etc) are not in fact compatible with the device (yet).

These are minor concerns and for what I wanted it for (business use working with spreadsheets, word documents, email, internet etc) it's fantastic.......if a little pricey.
