A great Megadeth album!
This is an underrated Megadeth album. Why? There's many great songs like "Reckoning Day", "Train of Consequences", "Blood of Heroes", and "I Thought I Knew It All"...and of course "A Tout Le Monde". It seems that the old fans rarely I like this album. Megadeth wanted to make something different...and I have to appereciate it.
Definatley my favorite Megadeth album
Youthanasia is an awesome metal release from metal masters Megadeth. this is the second of Megadeth's non thrash albums and in my point of view out does it's predecessor-Countdown to Extinction- despite at the time of it's release it remained dwarfed by Countdown's Success. The album starts with the heavy, almost epic riff of reckoning day then seemlessly drifts into the chugging train of consequences through to the emotional balladry of A Tout le monde (which, contrary to popular belief is not a suicide song!!!) and through the rest of the album. Youthanasia was probably the first Metal album i bought and remains my favorite Deth album. The album drifts away from Countdown in terms of production which is comparison to the previous Megadeth albums is very smooth and almost radio friendly, I didn't find this a problem but those who love the jagged sound of thrash may be dissapointed.
9.6/10
Excellent
This was brilliant, id listened to Countdown to extinction before this, and im a relatively new Magedeth fan, but this was truly wondeful heavy metal. I was farely pleased with Countdown to extinction and decided to buy another album, but this one got me hooked on them, if i was asked which song i liked best on this album i just couldnt choose, theyve really out-done themselves. I can't wait to hear United Abominations. Id say this is the best album i've ever bought, and megadeth have secured a life long fan.
