Excellent card, Windows software poor, works fine in Linux3
I purchased this card because I wanted to build my own Media centre, and it was on the MythTV compatibility list.
It works perfectly with MytThV on Linux, just needed a bit of fiddling to get the Low Noise Amplifiers switched on. The remote works fine too.
I use MythBuntu on my HTPC, a surprisingly good distro, easy to use and set up.
With the latest version of MythTV , I can even record multiple channels from one multiplex on each tuner. At the moment, I have it set up for four channels max per tuner.

impressive, only loses a star for the bundled software4
I bought this to put into an old desktop that I'm rebuilding for a friend to run as a home entertainment system. I have tried it out in an area which according to the Digital TV webpage shouldn't have good quality reception and I've managed to pick up straight away over 30 channels, all incredible quality. I've half a mind to keep the computer myself now!

As ever with a Hauppauge product, what lets the product down (and means this gets 4 stars, not 5) is the archaic bundled winTV software> Do yourself a favour and download the latest MediaPortal and use that to manage your TV with this PCI card. It will probably take you a short while to figure out how to configure it all, get the EPG running, etc, but its time well invested for a far superior UI. Then you've effectively got your own Windows Media Centre computer system.

No good for PVR on 2k3, its Let down by driver problems, poor software, and the requirement of an external amp.2
I bought this product to test out building my own PVR solution.
I wanted to try it on Windows Home Server (based on Windows 2003 small business edition). There are no drivers for Win2k3! Using the certified drivers for 2000, it causes my system to crash every single day!

I found I couldn't get any signal from my huge tv aeriel without an external aeriel amplifier, even though the aerial on it's ownt powers my freeview box & tv & dvr-r perfectly

The software that comes with the card is terrible - the UI looks like it was made for Windows 3.1 and hasn't been updated since, and it's very confusing. Also there doesn't seem to be any support for picking up the EPG off the digital EPG channel, only hauppage's internet software which didn't work, and required an extra web service to run!

Frustrated I looked into trying it with a Linux setup (MythUbuntu) but I'd have to mess around compiling the driver and them activating the onboard amp :(

For building your own PVR, buy a Terratec or something else! Happaugge may be the most well known brand for TV card but I would have expected better!
