Good highchair alternative with a few limitations
We don't have a lot of space at home so we bought this booster seat as a highchair alternative when our little one started to grow out of his Bumbo seat at 8 months.

Functionally, this booster seat does everything that is required of it. It attaches securely to our regular wooden dining room chairs, and folds up reasonably well (we still haven't quite figured out how to secure the table properly when folded) for storage / travel. We used to use it as a highchair with its fitted table and now have switched to having our toddler at the dining table with us, folding away the chair's feet to compensate for his added growth. We've always found the 3-point harness to be an adequate restraint.

[Warning: the instructions note that a child should not be left unattended when the chair's table is not attached and we can confirm that it is possible for a toddler sitting in this type of seat to come close to knocking himself and a dining chair over by kicking against a solid surface.]

There are two factors that stop me from giving this seat 5 stars. The first is the table's fitting which is not always an obvious clicking-into-place. (And if it doesn't click properly, a wilful toddler can easily push it off again.)

The second factor is the design which does not seem to take into account just how much food babies transfer around when they are eating. To cater for this, the best highchair designs have surfaces that are as smooth and wipe-able as possible with minimal grooves. This last criteria is one that this chair does not meet very well.

The side pieces are the worst offenders with several indentations for screw heads on the inside and a groove down the middle of the edge. The best way to avoid sticky fingers transferring food into these places is to use the chair with its table, but this is not always practical.

We also found quite quickly that the thinly padded seat cover added very little for a baby already sitting in a nappy and stopped using it after a couple of washes. However this leaves open some worse crevices at the back that crumbs / liquid can slip in and which we only noticed for the first time after a few weeks - ick! - when folding it to go on holiday.

This last factor would obviously be not as much of a consideration if buying this chair as an additional high-chair for travelling say, or for use with an older child.

Other than that, it's an attractive item with its neutral colouring that will fit very easily into even a compact home and fold away quite neatly when the dining room chair needs to be reclaimed.

Very Useful
This chair is just what I wanted, I did not want a high chair so this is great. My 11 month granddaughter will play in it for ages she loves being by the table and it is very safe and secure so there's no need to worry she will tip it up or fall out of it.If you are looking for a chair that doesn't take up room and is safe and sound this is the one to buy.She will also be able to use it as a chair as she grows.Well worth the money.

I bought this seat for my grandson. We use it during visits and find this seat very useful. We have it strapped to a dining chair, and my grandson loves sitting in the seat for his feeds, and we can use it close to the table so he can join in with the family mealtimes.
