Chasseur Cast Iron Grill Pan4
I have used this grill pan for sausages, pork chops and steaks so far and it cooks all of them very well. Being strong and reliable and made to high stndards it will last a lifetime and comes with a 10 year manufacture guarantee. Because the pan is made from cast iron once heated it takes a while for the pan to cool down so it will still cook for a short time even when the gas/electric is off. The only bad point is the weight of the pan it is made of cast iron which does make it a bit heavy and maybe too heavy for some. Also beware of the handle as it will get hot as it is cast iron as well. I am happy with my purchse and am sure I will be using it for years to come I recommend it.

Heavy but becoming essential equipment5
Don't know about how you meaties cook, but my interest in this pan was purely in reducing the fat content of an occasional indulgence in fried vegetables. I snapped one up when it hit half price and after 3 days I'm still very happy with it. It is heavy though- and because it doesn't have a long handle I found it really difficult to pick up when it was hot- I'm used to a Le Creuset frying pan so it's really just how the centre of gravity works out that makes it awkward to pick up one handed. I stuck to just using the handle to adjust the position over the hob and letting it cool completely before I moved it.
It does take a little time to season the pan. My cooking strategy is an adoption of what you would do on a barbecue- smear the side you're cooking with oil lightly applied with a pastry brush. When you put the veg down you do have to lift it a little with a fork after say 10 seconds to make sure that it doesn't stick to the grill line. I'm still learning really.
My other half was very impressed with the taste of aubergines, mushrooms and cherry tomatoes- he said they were far more flavoursome - much less masked by the taste of the oil. I liked cooking with a square pan for a change- everything seemed to fit in so much better. You do get a fairly high production of fumes though - so whack up the extractor or open a window before you cook.

great pice of kit5
For the price you can't go wrong with this pan, very heavy and hard wearing
