Even working dogs need time off!5
A friend bought this DVD after seeing a review by Barbara Sykes (who described it as a "must see" in Freedom of Spirit magazine). The blurb says, "If you like dogs - you'll love this DVD" and it's right! It's a film about what Border collies do on their days off, but I think anyone who likes to see happy dogs of any (or no particular) breed will enjoy this. The action isn't set-up stunts or highly trained manoeuvres, just dogs being dogs and some gorgeous puppies being puppies. There are funny bits and touching bits; the photography is great and instead of a narration each chapter has its own music track, obviously carefully chosen to suit the character or the action. It also means it doesn't matter what language you understand - you only need to speak 'dog'!
80 minutes may seem like a long time to set aside to watch someone else's dogs having fun but you can always just pick and choose through the chapters. If you're like me, though, you'll find 80 minutes just flies by.
Highlights for me? The mad dash through the gate to be first out - whatever gets in the way - and the puppy who lets her playmate out of the kennel but really it's hard to single out any one scene or dog. Look out for Mel's accident and subsequent op but don't panic - she turns up fit and well later in an ad! There's also a slideshow of lovely photographs, some of which I think have also appeared in various sheepdog books.
If you like dogs, see this video; if you don't - buy it for someone who does. They'll thank you for it!

It's Collie time !!5
