Editorial Reviews

From the Publisher
- Muse’s recently-released third album, Absolution, went straight to Number 1 in the charts.
- Reviews for that album were ecstatic – for example, The Big Issue drooled, "Muse are truly as epic as they always believed. Absolution is the album to establish Muse as one of the greatest bands of our generation."
- Their recent UK tour saw them graduate to the arena circuit, taking in such huge venues as Wembley Arena, Manchester Evening News Arena, Cardiff International Arena, Cardiff and the National Exhibition Centre, Birmingham.
- Further album dates will follow in 2004, plus highly anticipated festival appearances throughout the UK and Europe (including headlining T In The Park) and Australia’s Big Day Out festival. Their world tour continues into 2005.
- Muse are perfectly poised to become the next Radiohead - not only massive in their native UK but also a band with a dedicated fanbase spread across most countries in the world. They have as many foreign language websites dedicated to them as any other current rock band (Hebrew, Russian, Japanese, Icelandic etc), their fans notoriously dedicated.
- They are a part of a tradition of British rock eccentric exports that include Pink
Floyd, Queen, Led Zeppelin etc
- Muse are widely expected to feature heavily in the award listings for 2003/4, including the Brits.
- In February 2004 Muse celebrate their ten year anniversary as a band.
- Muse: Inside The Muscle Museum includes exclusive new interviews with all three band members, manager and early supporters, plus the authors eye witness accounts.
- Ben Myers is arguably the foremost expert on the band, having written about them from their beginnings, followed them on tour and championed them from the outset.

Customer Reviews

Inside The Muscle Museum5
A superb biography on one of the biggest bands currently around. Myers captures superbly the atmosphere in which this band have endured at different points in their career, be it from seedy French pubs to playing the glamourous heights of some of the biggest venues in the world.
This journey is captured perfectly, with Myers adding to the text, interesting and amusing stories from the band's encounters on their way to stardom. With detailed descriptions of the band member's backgrounds, parents, school and social circles, this provides an intreguing insight into how three young Devonshire men have become what is regarded by many as one of the most techniclly gifted bands the world has ever seen.
With explanations behind album and single titles, and backstage antics, this book is perfect for any Muse fan desperate to find out more about their somewhat media-shy heroes. Would even provide an amusing and enjoyable read for the neutral. A must buy title!

Very Impressive4
The band, as you should know by now are brilliant...
This book really focusses on the career of Muse right from their origins. Ben Myers does this very well, and gives a useful insight into how it all began. I strongly recommed this book to anyone who calls themselves a Muse fan. Because this book will surely tell you lots about the band that you never knew.
The only concern i have with it is that sometimes Ben Myers is a bit too descriptive which means reading it isn't always the easiest of things to do, so young fans may struggle.

On the whole, very good...
I look forward to reading the follow up in several years time when Muse have firmly established themselves as Britains best rock band of the 21st Century.
Well done Ben
