Customer Reviews
Good but not upto the author's usual standard
This was a good story but I agree with one other reviewer that it just lacked "meat". Having said that if you enjoy Rachel Gibson then its well worth a read.
Im In No Mood For Love - you will be!
"I'm In No Mood For Love" is the second story of three so far about a group of four writers and friends. It has several references to the one previous - Sex Lies and Online Dating (worth reading!).
This book is an easy to relate to book, who hasn't been hurt by love, had a little too much to drink and woken up thinking - How did I get here??
Claire Wingate wakes up in a hotel room to the sounds of the shower running and a guys clothes on the hotel chair. The clothes that do not belong to her fiancé... It all comes flooding back into her hung over brain... Bridesmaid at her friends wedding, forcing a smile on her face and plying herself with drink to numb the pain and humiliation of finding her fiancé in a compromising position with the washing machine repair MAN! Could things get any worse?
The guy in her shower is Sebastian Vaughan, the sexy grown up version of her childhood menace. The same person who terrified her as a child by telling her how babies were really made albeit a little dramatised, and not the gooseberry bush version either.
Although the plot is quite typical - girl meets boy etc but I think it takes the reader through so many emotions. You can really feel how devastated Claire was to find her fiancé like that and how she tries so hard not to fall back into her ways of finding comfort in another's body heat.
I wanted and easy read for the work commute and I found this book completely by chance. This was my first Rachel Gibson novel and the first in a now rather large Little Black Dress (publications) collection.
Although it isn't my favourite Rachel Gibson novel, (it was great for an introduction to 'chick lit') it made me smile and kept me turning the page wanting more. As I have now discovered, Rachel Gibson is certainly one to turn up the heat in the moment. As ever, this one is steamy!
I did find it a little difficult to get into at first, but it really kept my attention after the first chapter or two. I wanted to know how they were doing and what could possibly happen next.
In my opinion, if the synopsis appeals, read it! I wasn't disappointed!
don't listen to the other reviews!
when i was browsing through amazon and saw this book i read all of the other reviews that practically said that it wasn't great and to not waste my time. well, i took a leap of faith and bought it. i am soooo glad i did. this book is funny, witty, sexy and the characters are so likeable. there is a part near the end that actually made me cry! so, i think you should read the synopsis and if it sounds good to you i can probably guarantee that you're going to like it if you love romantic fiction that makes you feel good at the end.
