Go for it !
Whether you have tried internet dating or are considering doing so, buy this book first. Carol Dix has conducted some excellent research and backs up her theories with some helpful quizes along the way. By participating in the quiz, it helps the reader see where their strengths and weaknesses lie.
For me, Carol Dix is an author whose writing begs me to turn the page. I read the book in just over a day, but I did not do all the quizes - just the quiz that was relevant to the experience of internet dating that I had had.
If there are three things that I would fully endorse, the first would be to choose a site or method that is close to the target audience you would wish to meet, be truthful about yourself, and be prepared to spend some money on 21st century dating, including a halfway decent photo. Exercise some patience, the more mature we become, the longer it can take to find "the right person".

Frank and Paula were amazing
This book has changed my life. At first, it seemed run of the mill and humdrum, until I got to the section where Frank and Paula were interviewed. WOW! What a love story! Their tale dangles a hope for earthly paradise in front of all of us, even the most ancient, wizened crinkly and past it of us..... love rules!!!
