A great cup to start your baby off with water5
I am breastfeeding my little girl (currently 10 months and going strong yay) and so teats have always been a problem - she never learned how to suck from one. This was fine until I went back to work when she was 7 months old. I was expressing milk but not sure how she was actually going to drink it. So I used a doidy - really good, but they don't have a lid to check spills - and then tried this after seeing my sister using one. It was so easy for her to suck from. The spout isn't too long or too soft and it only has one hole so the water or ebm (expressed breast milk) doesn't pour out too fast. The spout also folds so it's easy to travel with. I now use it mainly for water as she doesn't want milk in the daytime really. Alot of my bottle-feeding friends use them too because they're such a good transition to a cup after a bottle and very easy to suck. They're not non-spill, but actually the non-spill cups are very hard to suck from when you've been used to a breast or a teat. Anyway they're not expensive so it's an easy one to try! And she loves drinking from it at will, banging it around and generally enjoys her cup.

Back to basics5
With my daughter, and now with my son, it seemed we tried every cup under the sun, with every state-of-the-art valve system designed to make it 'non-spill'. Unfortunately, this seems to be entirely for the parents' benefit: yes, the carpets stayed dry, but neither of my children could actually get liquid out of these valved wonders. I even resorted to trying them myself, and the experience was - well, like trying to get water out of that proverbial stone. Enter Tommee Tippee, and a baby cup that - astonishingly - allows liquid to flow freely through the spout. Yes, baby gets wet when he starts using it to mash his banana or conduct Beethoven. But honestly, most of it ends up inside him, and I'm not dodging 'sippy' cups flung across the kitchen in frustration. Surely that's worth five stars? Now I'm off to order ten more...

Been using these for 3 years and still doing well!5
These are the best cups on the market, as far as I'm concerned. I bought the first one for my son when he was being weaned having been breast fed. He took to the cup straight away and has never looked back. He actually still uses them even now (although we're trying to wean him off them). We've never had to replace any of them - and we have about 5 in various colours.

They're really robust and the fold-down lid is excellent both for travel and also at home to try to protect the sofa.

Highly, highly recommended.
