Amazon.co.uk Review
Sticking firm to the old "if it ain't broke…" philosophy, Westwood Studios conjures up memories of the original Command & Conquer games with Command & Conquer Red Alert 2 Gold Collection, which includes the original game and the mission disk, Yuri's Revenge. The game is set just a few years after the events of the original C&C: Red Alert and opens with a surprise Soviet invasion of the US mainland.

Playing as the startled Americans, you must cobble together a resistance and beat the invaders back into the sea. Playing as the Soviets, you must quickly establish control of your new domain. You still lead a small group of infantry and armoured units in most missions and you still have to assemble a base of operations in order to accomplish just about anything. This time around, however, you'll have a slew of new units to build and command in the field--most of which are pretty slick. The American Prism Tank, for example, can take out numerous enemy units with a single, branching attack. On the Soviet side, Tesla Troopers and Psychics help make ground troops a formidable asset.

Yuri's Revenge Mission Disk: at the end of Red Alert 2 the Soviet threat was vanquished and Yuri, the Reds' psychic warrior fled. Now he's back in his own mission pack and as it says on the tin, he's out for revenge. To this end he begins building a network of psychic dominators with the plan of turning the good ol' US of A into a race of mindless automatons, eager to do his bidding.

The Allies manage to hold Yuri off in San Francisco just long enough for Einstein to propel you back through time to try and change the course of history. Both sides will battle against Yuri and try and avert his psychic domination of the world, but if you play the Soviet campaign, your mission will not only be to stop Yuri, but also restore Mother Russia to its former glory.

The add-on pack offers 14 new single-player missions, (seven for each side) and although you won't be able to control Yuri's forces in the single-player game, you can in multiplayer and skirmish games. As well as the new missions you get new units on both sides. This is a great add-on for an entertaining game and shows that the Command and Conquer franchise is still very much alive and kicking. --Kensington Walsh

The best C et C game yet!5
If you enjoy strategy then you can't fail to love this pack. Every unit is designed with love and every mission is embued with fiendish twists, RA2 is a masterpiece in rts form.
So it is getting on abit and the graphics aren't up to much, but everything else makes up for it;
Cool technologies, Unique units, Stunning scenarios, they're all there!
Don't forget skirmishes, there is still a dedicated following for RA2 and you get plenty of bonus maps to play on bundled free on the disks.
So if you fancy a blast from the past then comrade, I emplore you to buy this pack!

Red Alert 2 & Yuri's Revenge5
great game, very addictive and Yuri only makes it better. such fun playing the skirmish game and using engineers to control 1 allied base, 1 soviet base and 1 yuri base, then use all of the best technologies to crush the last opponent. The only criticism is that when playing the skirmish level, the computer always devotes 100% of its money to building super weapons and doesn't ever attack with tanks and stuff, so i just turn the super weapons check box off! once again great game, i'm only here because i need to buy it again, my old discs are scatched.

An RTS classic5
Many people,(including me for a certain period of time) have a weird fixation to overlook all old games and solely go for the new ones. C&C RA2 and Yuri's Revenge are games that easily break that feeling.

As you may have guessed... yes ... they are old games, it doesn't take a supercomputer to play, in fact it doesn't even take a really old computer to play. It requires merely a Pentium II and 256mhz, compared to the 3ghz computers being released nowadays and even the 1ghz ones from about 4 years ago, it is almost certain that the game will play to maximum efficiently.

It is Command & Conquer, from RA the graphics have actually improved and have taken a cartoon-y form, this does change anything - it's just interesting to notice. The game isn't that difficult to learn so you'll have got the hang of it within 10 minutes, there are 3 sides(with the expansion installed)

The Allies -(UK/USA/France/Germany/Korea)all the countries have their own unique unit. They are the most easy to play and are gifted with strong and flexible units from spys that can infiltrate the enemy base to enormous Battle fortresses with whole batallions of men inside crushing through the battlefield.

The Soviet -(Russia/Cuba/Iraq/Libya)all the countries have their own unique unit. They are somewhat more complicated than Allies, more tactical and sneaky, using towers that shoot lightning to Nuclear missiles.

YURI -(Yuri)the most crazy side of all, unique to the expansion, they haven't got the power of the allies or the strategy of the soviet, all they have is mind control, and loads of it. Very formidable indeed.

The campaign story is wonderful, the best feature being the mini-movies in between each mission. It is great to see that Westwood got the actors to make it a realistic experience, the Yuri's Revenge expansion continues the experience.

RA2 is one of the best old games of all time and you will enjoy it, it is easy to learn to play, and very variable and tactical, a good, old purchase to make to introduce you into the world of C&C.
