Customer Reviews
Tiring handle.
Took delivery just today on a wet and blustery morning.
Apart from the clever design this is a very well made article.
It's also noticeably heavier than the normal cheap compact brolly you see displayed beside gents belts and ties in a high-street department store.
The one single problem is the abominably short handle. As a previous reviewer has already mentioned it really is quite cheaply made. I could live with that if it was only 3 inches longer. As I've already ready mentioned this umbrella is heavier than the ordinary run of telescopic brolly. A longer handle would make it much more comfortable to use.
Still it's a fine product and worth the money, but could definitely be improved.
Gustbuster Metro Umbrella Black
I purchased this in black after reading the only review that was listed 2 weeks ago. It's the first umbrella I have bought since I was at school, over 20 years ago but decided I needed to invest in one for the dash from the car to the office and for standing at the school gate. I have used it 3 times this week in strong Scottish wind and rain, including Leuchars Airshow where we were pretty exposed to the elements, and so far so good!! It is quite heavy and not as compact as other telescopic umbrellas I have seen in the shops but my handbags tend to be on the large size to accommodate the kitchen sink etc so it is fine, and could alternatively be carried over your shoulder in the bag it comes in I suppose. The umbrella stalk does seem to wobble a bit when you are holding it but I've put this down to the design i.e. a bit of movement for being able to withstand storms etc? One thing that I would point out is that you have to be careful with the button on the handle that triggers the umbrella to extend and pop up as you can accidentally hit it and up it pops in the car, or even in your handbag if it has the chance!! Hopefully, it will last the pace and not be destroyed by the Scottish weather over the winter.
So nearly perfect
I read the reviews, bought the product, and returned it next day. The first thing I saw was the ropey handle. How many umbrellas have you had where the handle comes loose or falls off? The one on the "Metro" seems to be made from hollowed-out wood, given a half-hearted coat of spray paint. The release button too looked like a bit of dowel. What a shame, because the rest of the product is really first-class. Why did I lose my 20-year-old Fulton?
