Customer Reviews
Great fun for all the family
Yes, you do need an instrument or microphone to play this game! But it IS compatible with lots of different controllers. Our Guitar Hero guitar worked fine! The Beatles ones work too. And the tracks are well chosen for the whole family to enjoy, which is important. When the children are playing these songs at full volume, there's no escape - they have to be songs you don't mind hearing all over the house! And these are great!!
Can't get to play this...
I bought this for my son, aged 10, as he has wanted guitar hero/rock band for a while, but they are rated age 15 and I was concerned about them. So we were delighted when the Lego brand brought their version out, as we have had and enjoyed all the other lego Wii and DS games.
Imagine my son's disappointment when he received the game and found it would not work without either one of the instruments or a USB microphone, of which we had neither!! Why does it not say in the product information that these items are needed to play the game??? I am now left with the prospect of buying other items to play this with - without any recommendations of which guitar etc to buy (as according to their reviews not all the guitars work with all the games).
Great Songs
Unlike Guitar Hero 5, I found I knew pretty much all the songs in this game which makes it much more enjoyable. It's great fun, especially having your little lego guys playing away. The only reason I haven't given it 5 stars is because of the vast difference in difficulty levels between easy and medium when playing guitar. I'm not that good on the guitar (I just can't get that blue note!) so I normally play on easy in Guitar Hero, but in Lego Rockband "Easy" really is very, very easy so that I get 100% most of the time. However, if I try to play on medium the step up seems rather steep with chords, loads more notes and the extra blue note as well. I think they could have made the easy level a little more difficult with some chords and more notes (just not the blue one!). And as for the people who gave this 1 star because it doesn't come with instruments...duhhhh...how did you think you were going to play it?
