Living With Blind Dogs5
This is a must for anyone facing dog blindness or low vision for the first time. The author's straightforward, non-terribly-techincal explanations of some of the diseases that cause blindness in dogs, is very helpful. The photographs used to embellish the training information and ideas make this a thoroughly comprehensive guide.

Excellent guide to coping with a blind dog4
I bought this book from Amazon a couple of weeks ago and am very pleased with it indeed. My dog had only recently gone totally blind and I had gone through an awful stage where I thought it might be best to have her put to sleep but this book has helped me by showing me that blindness to a dog is NOT the end of the world. It also gives very useful and cheap tips to help your dog continue with life after blindness as well as tips for those whose dog is partially-sighted and is en route to blindness. The training tips are easy and don't involve lots of expensive aids. For me, just knowing that blind dogs can be taught to enjoy life again made the purchase price of the book well worth it ! One thing though - I have found, and the book backs me up here, that the blind dog learns to cope quicker if it is with other seeing dogs. It's harder if he's an only dog.

A Great Help5
There are not many books to help owners of blind dogs, so I was very pleased to find this one. This is an excellent book and very easy to read and take in. It gives you straightforward, uncomplicated ideas, support and suggestions on how to live life with a blind dog, whether it has been blind from birth or it has occurred later in life. It covers all needs, from diet and possible causes, training, useful 'tools' to help your dog live a fulfilled life, plus other hints and tips. It has helped us greatly adjusting to our dog's growing blindness and meant we can already make adjustments whilst she still has a little vision left. It is a caring book, however, not sentimental and gives you realistic things to try. You can pick out how much or how little you choose to do yourself. I thoroughly recommend it.
