Essential piece of software
I originaly moved to F-Secure Internet Security 2005 from Norton. The first thing to impress me was that this software found a virus that was already on my PC that Norton must have let through. The second thing was that my PC now runs faster as FIS2005 doesn't hog system resources in the way that Norton appeared to. I have now upgraded to FIS 2006 and this is even better - all the components work well and are very quick and easy to install and set-up. The anti-spyware is now fully integrated with the antivirus software so there is no separate scanning or software updating required. The anti-spam function works well, although it would be even better if it integrated as tightly with Mozilla Thunderbird as it does with MS Outlook. The virus definitions are updated frequently (normally several times a day) which means you are protected from new viruses very quickly (i.e. the ones most likely to cause you problems). I think this is a very important consideration. Buy it.

Good for the Money
This product installs in a straightforward way without bombarding you immediately with wizards and choices. Much better than some leading products in this respect.

The Antivirus is at least #2 in detection rate of the leading products, and is much more efficient than many products in that by protecting you it does not hobble your machine.

On the downside I found the anti-spam features a bit pedestrian and it does not seem to perform anything other than basic address filtering.

Updates seem to be available very fast for the product unlike some vendors weekly efforts, and it can show you news of important threats.

All in all - a good product for antivirus and a simple product for anti-spam.

Consistently Good
I'm into my third year with F-Secure Internet Security and expect the 2006 version to be just as easy to use and efficient as before. Over the years I've used Norton and McAfee and the free AVG but this is the only one that's been totally problem free. It does the lot with little attention and is dead easy to renew when the subscription is coming to an end. Highly recommended.
