Customer Reviews

Immensly helpful, extremely amusing5
After spending a month in the woderous city that is Bath (and buying this guide on my 6th day there), I can honestly say that this book is an absolute neccessity for locals and tourists alike.
It saw me through some good times (amazing sweet potato sandwiches at 'Cafe Shoon'), some tough times (getting a little lost), and some unforgettable times (fish finger sandwiches and chocolate fondue at 'The Cocoa House'? "Genius!")
Every spare minute was spent leafing through 'The Book', and I felt as if I knew Mr. Kibblewhite personally. The clear layout and 3D maps meant that I was able to spurt off facts regarding just about anything to do with Bath, from hot springs to Bath chaps, while walking just about anywhere that my heart (and book) took me.
This guide tells it like it is, from where to get some hearty grub, to a cheap pint, to Austen's residences, to finding sheep 10 minutes from the city centre. What this guide doesn't tell you clearly isn't worth knowing.

This book is a must for all visitors to Bath5
If you're visiting Bath there's one thing you must have and it's the'Naked Guide to Bath'. It's one of those books that you can open up at any page and find interesting and very amusing information about the historic town of Bath. It's a real mine of information, from excellently researched historical facts to the downright honest reviews of the pub listing (you were right about the Rat and Parrot Mr Kibblewhite) this book just keeps on turning up good honest information. I wish more guide books were written in this way, no time wasted finding out the hard way! On my visit to Bath this book was invaluble and kept me amused and informed for hours. Well done Mr Kibblewhite on a well presented guide to a fascinating city steeped in history and intrigue. Will Mr Kibblewhite be writing any more guide books like this one? I hope so. A note to the publishers Mr Faragher and Mr Jones...Make him write some more please!

Good content, shame about the printing4
This guide includes some wonderful trivia about Bath and its inhabitants - I never expected to find mention of either Joss Whedon or "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" in a British guide book. However, the printing quality is poor - fuzzy B/W pictures, although the 3D sketches of the city make a nice change from flat maps. Pages 25 to 40 were missing from my copy and pages 41 to 56 duplicated. But it's still good value for the price. I do hope it'll be updated and reprinted soon.
