The simple way to lose weight and get healthy!5
This is the best way to lose weight I have found. The book encourages you to eat healthy food and more of it! All you have to do is choose whether to have a green or original day and eat the correct types of foods accordingly. You dont feel like you're depriving yourself of anything. As you can have 10 sins a day you dont feel like you're on any kind of diet. Since using this book I have been losing weight steadily and feeling much healthier. I definitely recommend it.

Not enough information to follow the diet long-term3
This book is a good introduction to Slimming World's food optimising diet but doesn't provide enough information to stay on the diet long term. To use your own recipes or eat pre-prepared food you will need the full lists of free foods and sin values. You can only get these if you join a class or pay another £10 to get the books direct from Slimming World.

Having said that, the provided menus do look tasty - but how many people eat starters and desserts or have time to prepare Greek Fish Wrapped in Vine Leaves at lunch time? Some ideas for packed lunches would have been good.

As a last minor quibble, the sin values for all the recipes are listed in a separate table at the back of the book so you are constantly flicking backward and forward when choosing something.

Want to lose weight the fun way - It's a sin5
Chips. Fish and chips to be precise: As many chips as you want. Sound like a diet book to you? Food Optimising has inspired a change in my house. It has encouraged a rise in the amount of fruit and vegetables my family eat and lots of low/no-fat alternatives in our diets - yet without subjecting taste or leaving us hungry. This is an excellent book for any slimmer or food-lover: Based on Slimming World's eating plan which allows you to choose between 'green or 'original' days depending on whether you prefer vegetables to meat, it is a unique and fun addition to any kitchen. A green day allows you *unlimited* amounts of pasta, potatoes (chips), baked beans, eggs, yogurt etc... as well as the normal fruit and veg. While red days mean you can have as much meat and fish as you like. Some quantities are limited, but the cod we had with our fish was ample, and amounts range from about 85g for some smoked salmon on a green day to about 145g for a fish portion so they're not stingy, and there are always suggestions for added fruit and veg with every meal in the suggested menu section. But this is not food combining, and so is much more convenient, and much more likely to improve your eating habits for good. You are encouraged to cut fat from your diet and still eat as much as you like of these foods, which a lot of diets ban - so you will mean you will still lose weight. On the plan you are also given at least 10 'sins' a day which you can use on one of the delicious puddings, recipes include some with an alcohol-kick to them too, like Pimms jelly, and any diet cookbook that includes Tiramisu must is worth the price of a cd. Try it! What have you got to lose but a few pounds.
