Slide Shows?4
This is a fairly comprehensive manual covering the MS programme BUT anyone - which includes me - looking for a slide show programme that can be burnt to a DVD (or Video CD) so as to play it on a stand alone player other than a computer, should look elsewhere. This manual tends to over emphasize the presentation of lists and graphs and whilst there are chapters covering the inclusion of pictures ( including short videos) one has the impression that this is a mere side line. It is always assumed that you, the presenter, will be standing at the side of the screen and talking to the audience. Many people do this and there is no doubt that Power Point is the programme to use and this manual covers that in great detail but using PP as a stand alone slide show....No. If you want that then this manual is not for you.

If this is the advanced book, I'd hate to see the Dummies Guide!1
My department was pressured into designing and building PowerPoint presentations instead of InDesign to PDFs presentations as we're used to. So we are skilled operators used to the computer and I was hoping this book would shed light on the foibles of the program.

The callouts and "tips" wouldn't have been out of place in a idiots guide and the book to me and my team felt more like a childs or a beginners guide to PowerPoint. e
