An excellant introduction to Turkey
As an introduction to Turkey, I feel that this is the best all-round guide available. Not too heavy, visually inspiring and with honest and sensible text. Independant travellers may find Lonely Planet more useful as it is more comprehensive. This guide contains accurate and useful info on all the essential sites to be seen in Turkey.
Dorling Kindersley Eyewitness guides - Turkey
A very good value for money guide book. There are very good illustrations throughout, with the appropriate descriptive text following. The guide is easy to understand and the advantage with this guide is it works area by area of turkey, so depending on which region you are staying in, you wil know about the good places to eat, hotels, tourist attractions etc, as they are all index linked, so you can cross reference information if you need to. All in all a good purchase and I would highly recommend this if its your first visit to Turkey. Gemma watford,
Nice photos but little information
If you want to travel to Turkey and need information about areas DO NOT buy this guide. Nice photos and lots of them but very limited information about places. More a travel brouchure than a guide. Go for Lonely Planet or the Rough Guide instead and order a brouchure from an upmarket tour operator for the photos.
