Manufacturer's Description
Panasonic is pleased to introduce the Lumix 10.1-megapixel DMC-FX35 with astonishing 25mm ultra-wide-angle LEICA DC lens and 4x optical zoom (equivalent to 25mm to 100 mm on a 35mm film camera), which captures almost double the viewing space at the same shooting distance compared to ordinary 35mm cameras, resulting in remarkable images with unprecedented width and depth.
The Intelligent Auto mode, which comprises various shooting-assist functions, has been advanced for the DMC-FX35 by newly adding the Intelligent Exposure feature and Digital Red-eye Correction in addition to the conventional Mega O.I.S., Intelligent ISO Control, Intelligent Scene Selector, Face Detection and Quick AF functions.
The new DMC-FX35 newly integrates the capability of recording 720p HD (high-definition) motion pictures together with its direct output function, allowing users to enjoy watching both still and motion pictures in impressive HD quality on a large-screen HDTV via an optional component cable.
The high-performance image-processing LSI has newly entered its fourth generation, to be reborn as Venus Engine IV to assure higher-quality pictures with an advanced signal processing system. The DMC-FX35 boasts a 230,000-dot high-resolution LCD with Intelligent LCD function.

Miniature Marvel
I have to give this camera 5 stars because for my purposes it is perfect. Panasonic are one of the few manufacturers that make wide angle compacts...I can count on one hand the number of cameras currently available that go wider than 28mm, and to find one as tiny as this is amazing....the only other that I can think of is the Ricoh GX100, which is bigger and more expensive.
The lens is excellent...it is sharp, the lack of distortion at wide angle is impressive, there is no real purple fringing and the vignetting is also minimal (darkening at the edges that occours with most lenses)...amazing really
I only really use this camera in good light and the results are excellent...some say the sensor is noisy in low light (grainy images)...but in the conditions that I use this camera I have had nothing but great results, with great punchy colours (using the VIVID setting) and loads of detail...but I am a wide angle shooter, and that is where this tiny little gem is at its best
The size of this camera is just amazing, its smaller than a pack of cards...good battery life...great menus...auto everything if you want it, with an intellegent auto mode...or a mode that allows control over ISO, exposure EV, colour saturation, white balance, and loads of other stuff, I think the menus are brilliant...I am now a Panasonic fan, I had previously overlooked this manufacturer
Build is lovely....so for a tiny high resolution wide angle camera, how can I give it less than 5 stars ?...there is very little else available that compares....brilliant
I Love my Lumix!
This is a great little camera...i've had my FX35 for a few weeks now and have thoroughly enjoyed taking photo's with it! The 25mm wide angle lens is brilliant...when im out with a bunch of my girls and we want a group photo its so easy to fit us all in and no-one gets chopped off the sides! The IA mode makes taking great quality photo's really easy...and its nice and compact which means it fits it my handbag perfectly!!
Highly recommended!!
Good - but not as good as it reviewed everywhere
I bought FX35 after reading a lot of reviews, its been praised in all the reviews.
But after using for a couple of weeks, I am not very impressed with it. I think all reviews are a bit one sided.
My previous camera was a Canon IXUS 800IS, in comparison to that FX35's picture quality is not good.
Intelligent Auto and Face recognition are very good functions.
Main negative points for me are
-Picture quality leaves lot to be desired.
-Lot of barrel distortion at the wide angle
-Lot of noice in pictures taken indoors.
Canon was good in all aspects and used to produce pictures with very pleasing colours.
