Push buttons on the control panel are clearly marked and highlighted with stylish chrome detailing.

A Kenwood Winner for Sure
I've had this machine just less than a week but already love it. First was the pleasant surprise of how compact it is - much more than my friend's Panasonic. I've made the basic white, egg-enriched white, brown and french loaves, also done a marmalade cake. None of the family can find a fault with anything that's been made. My friend and neighbour both have the Panasonic that seems to have rave reviews on here but costs nearly twice as much but does no more than this Kenwood. My friend came round to nosey at the first loaf and stayed for the result. She actually said after tasting it that she preferred it to the one that came out of her machine. If it manages to live up to the endurance of the other Kenwood products I own I will be delighted. The final 'icing on the cake' is the excellent Kenwood website where you can very easily download loads and loads of other recipes. With Amazon's price this is incredible value for money for the vast amount it can do. Cannot recommend enough.
Makes great bread
this is my second breadmaker. My first was £30 from ASDA made great dough but always had that horrible steam- baked texture I thought all breadmakers were like this and wouldn't have bought another but smashed it accidently when moving.
My Kenwood totally different story - I like wholemeal with lots of seeds in it and the bread from the Kenwood is wonderful (I use 4/10 wholemeal and 1/10 white which does it for me. the texture is great and the crust is lovely and crisp unlike the other one.
I note that several bread maker reviews mention viewing windows and stuff like that. I would remind people that you can lift the lid except in the final stages of baking. I usually make dough as per istructions. add lots of seeds let it mix and then check it if too wet or dry add drops or water or more flour. then let it cook.
Downside
1.I have not used it excessively but I am afraid that the clips will go soon which will make it unuseable they are strangely cheaper metal than the rest.
2.I bought it from one of amazon suppliers - the one based in franceand was not impressed at all with the service. This comes with instruction leaflet but NOT a recipe book. so I tried to return it as the cost of book and postage and machine make Comet a cheaper option. (they didnt mention the lack of book in the blurb.
3. The paddle does tend to stick in the bottom which leaves a hole in the bread. but I think they all do this and I will put up with this for the sake of the lovely bread. (better than any you can buy).
Final note - there is a reset button if you have hit the wrong button.
A Little Beauty
Had this breadmaker for just on two weeks. It's compact, easy to use and makes great bread. What more can you want from a breadmaker?
Can't really fault it, but....
....the display is a bit hard to read and the clips that hold the bowl in are a bit 'mickey-mouse'. Can see these being the first thing to give a problem. These are the only thing that stopped me giving 5 stars.
I was lucky enough to order before AMAZON put the price up! Obviously they feel they might have a really good product here that might sell like hot cakes. (Forgive the pun.)
