Excellent Machine!!5
What a great machine. Firstly its shock proof and resists water (splashes). The camera is very small so you can easily fit in a pocket or bag. Comes with all the accessories including a 2GB SD card (although I would recommend buying another 4GB (Does not take above 4GB). The battery life is great and the picture quality really good. It comes with three quality modes, XP (EXCELLENT, SHARP, CLEAR), SP (Usual camcorder qiality), LP (Still very good and you can record for ages). The machine takes pictures aswell!

The best bit is how easily you can record to DVD with the software and USB cable which it comes with. SD Camera's are the way forward!

Value for money4
I have had this camera for almost 6 months now. It is light and small, fast to bootup (especially from standby with the screen closed) and - within the limits of a camera with these specifications - produces good movies. The key is the expectations; this is a cheap (or rather, inexpensive)video camera. Its never going to produce top of the range video. Dont pan too fast with it, plus it will struggle in a candle-lit room. But its very portable, and for 'capturing the moment' its pretty much perfect.
I havent thoroughly tried out the ruggedness of the camera - showerproof and shock resistant to 1.2m - but it has been rained on and has been knocked off a table. This, coupled with the relatively low price means that you dont need to be too precious with it. I take it anywhere and everywhere without any worries. No point in having a camera to record memories if its at home.
Only 4 stars because the still photos are poor (0.8Mp) - though this is a video camera after all; some of the controls are a little fiddly -though the dual record buttons and placement of the zoom rocker are spot on; and there is no lens cover, so there is one rather important area of vulnerability.
If you are looking for a small video camera to record the family's antics, this is for you.

Good for home movies!4
I am a video editor by trade. I make TV shows and up until recently I have carried huge DV camera's around with me to make sure every moment of my kids youth is captured. As they grew older, the need to film grew less and less appealing as it ruined many a day out.

This little camera has made it fun again. Sure the picture quality isn't High Def, but it does the job for home movies.

When twinned with iMovie 08 it's super easy to cut your home movies and share them with people and stick them on DVD or on YouTube. We watch them, enjoy them just like we did when I was carrying around a big camera.

The camera is small, shock proof and splash resistant. The only downside is the battery life and the fact that you only get 23 minutes of footage on the supplied card, but I have just ordered 2 new batteries and a bigger SD card - so I'm set for more fun times!
