Product Description

This is the autobiography of Michael Watson, the former Commonwealth Middleweight champion, whose career was tragically cut short. In 1991 he had a world title fight with Chris Eubank - the people's champion against the guy we love to hate. Eubank retained his belt, but it was one of the most controversial decisions in British boxing history. The Rematch was the biggest super middleweight title fight British boxing had ever seen. Tragically, in the eleventh round, Watson caught his neck on the back of the ropes after taking an uppercut from Eubank. He collapsed and suffered serious brain damage which left him paralysed. After years of intensive therapy, and with the same determination and strength of spirit that he showed in the ring, Michael Watson has made a remarkable recovery and won the biggest fight of all - the fight for his life. The Biggest Fight is a testament to why Michael Watson was, is, and always will be 'the people's champion'.

Inspirational4
The story of Michael Watson is a well documented one. Left for dead after a brutal fight against Chris Eubank - not to mention the errors of the British Boxing Board of Control - Watson embarked on an incredible rehabilitation process which defied medical science. Reading this book is a humbling experience as you encounter Watson's dignity, faith and courage with every turn of a new page. Michael Watson is an inspitational man and this book is essential reading for anyone interested in the inextinguishable flame of the human spirit.

Michael Watson4
The delayed biography of Michael Watson, was well worth the wait.
An inspirational read of how someone can overcome great diffulties and not be bitter about your fate.
The first half of the book covers his childhood and his boxing career, while the second half details his battle to recover from the terrible injuries substained in his second battle with Chris Eubank.

It is a good read not only for those who know his life story but for people who aren't interested in boxing, just to learn how a strong mind coupled with determination can overcome whatever life puts in front of you.

INSPIRATIONAL5
I have read lots of books about abused childhoods etc as I love reading true stories. However, I have never read a book that has touched me so deeply. I have not been able to shout up about this book and I have suggested to numerous friends that they should read it. It's the most inspirational book I have ever read. I followed Michael Watson's career and watched all his fights. I remember watching the fight with Eubank and I was in shock, I still have the clippings from the newspapers the following day. Michael is a man to admire, reading what he's been through and the fact that he's not bitter and holds no anger towards anyone just shows the character of the man that so many people have grown to admire. In 1986 my brother went through a similiar thing to Michael due to a car accident and today 22 years on, he's still in a wheelchair. I admire Michael's stength, determination and his strong believe in God.
I would love to meet him and give him a big hug. I'm about to start reading it all over again.
