Your Root in in your Legs
I have been doing Taiji & Qigong for around 10 years so I have made some progress. However, a recent injury had persuaded me to look for a system to rebuild my old legs. This title looked very interesting. I had tried Standing-like-a-Tree numerous times and although terrifically powerful, I needed something more gentle for the time being.
Like all Lam's books this is very simple and words are kept to a bare minimum. The idea is 'Do the Exercises and See for Yourslf!!'
I personally like a little more in the way of literary inspiration (hence 4 stars), but there you go.
Anyhow I studied the book and attempted the first Stepping exercise... Crane Walk. I was quite electrified. I felt energy surging right away through my damaged knee and all around my torso.... astonishing.
Clearly a beginner to these arts is unlikely to have a similar experience straight away, nevertheless I was very quickly convinced that these techniques do work. Thanks Lam.
Worth a look for those who are not attracted to the lengthy process of learning Taiji.
