Great for fitness and learning fundamental kung fu5
The Shaolin Workout trains in the aid of building fitness, strength, endurance, stamina and flexibility whilst learning fundamental kung fu steps for the beginner, and giving those who already know how, a virtual classroom in which the Master pushes you to work out to your maximum.

Just as the kung fu is key in this work out DVD, so is the emphasis on fitness and endurance.

This is great for someone who (1) wants to get fit under the banner of wushu (kung fu) and/or (2) wants to learn or practice kung fu in a class room setting, but is unable to go to a real life class.

The Master is joined by students in the back, so you always feel you are part of a class as well as part of the process. The Master is efficient and helpful in his explanations, but for the complete beginner, do not be afraid to pause the DVD when practicing moves for the first time that you did not quite pick up firstly at the full speed of the class. Once you get the moves, working out is even the more fun.

It is an enjoyable, fast paced, accurate and more regimented form of working out.

A Shaolin Monk In Your Living Room5
Shifu (Master) Yan Lei uses the exercises taught to novices at the Shaolin Temple in China, to show you how to tone your body, increase fitness, build flexibility and focus your mind.

The Shaolin techniques have been used for centuries to attain the highest mental and physical strength. Originally developed to prepare for battle they are still relevant today in our fight to balance busy lives, combat stress and maintain a healthy mind and body.

In addition to the physical benefits, students of the Shaolin disciplines of Qi Gong and Kung Fu also benefit from increased energy levels, concentration and confidence. The exercises are widely practiced throughout Southeast Asia and work with the body's innate harmony and energy for greater wellbeing.

Shifu Yan Lei is a 34th generation disciple of the Shaolin Temple in Henan, China. He has been studying Shaolin martial arts for over twenty years, and is an expert in Shaolin Qi Gong and Kung Fu.

The Shaolin Warrior range of DVDs are designed to guide you through the authentic Shaolin teachings of Qi Gong and Kung Fu. Offering a graded teaching system with exercises and practices direct from the Shaolin Temple in China, Shifu Yan Lei takes you on a journey towards spiritual and physical health and well-being.

The Shaolin Workout DVDs are accessible to everyone regardless of age or fitness level and provide three levels: Beginners (Vol.1), Intermediate (Vol.2) and Advanced (Vol.3). No previous experience of martial arts is needed and you work at your own pace to increase your fitness and develop your technique.

Perfect for any martial artist!5
I havent done martial arts for a few years now and am looking to get back into it, i brought this to try and see if i had anything left fitness wise....and i didnt, the first part of the dvd is stretching/warming up (press-ups etc) and i was exhausted just at that!

The dvd is broken down into 8 chapters:

1. Warm up
2. Stamina Training
3. Stance and punch training
4. Combination Training
5. Stretching
6. 5 Basic Kicks
7. Mixed Training
8. Qi Gong

Its a brilliant dvd and is definetly not a walk in the park, anyone looking to get into martial arts will benefit greatly from this and anyone in martial arts might learn something new but depending on your experience you may find this easy and would probably benefit more from the other 2 volumes.
