Good for younger children, too!4
I bought this book for my 2 year old as we prepared for his new sibling. Some of the text is a bit too much for such a young child, but the photos lend themselves to telling a story that children of any age can understand. He liked to see the pictures of tiny babies, and also liked to hear how the older children felt about the babies. I think this book really helped him to know what to expect. We have lots of "new baby" books, but I feel this one is superior - photographs rather than illustrations really help young children know what to expect.

Recommended4
This 'new baby' book contains photographs of children and their 'new' siblings - an enormous strength. As a result, my two year old seemed to identify better with this book than other books on this subject. However, the text was too advanced for him and quite lengthy in places, so I had to make up my own version (while scanning what they had written to see if there was anything pertinent) which I found a little irritating. I suspect it is written for an older child. I would recommend it though, as it covers many aspects of having a new sibling and did help prepare my son for his sister's birth.

4 year old daughter's preferred 'new baby' book4
My almost 4 year old daughter loves this book and is better than the other new baby books we have. It's American so you have to change some of their words, and some of it assumes the baby is already here (ours isn't quite yet), so you need the ability to be able to interchange the text for more appropriate words. It's opened up lots of other discussion for us (what things does mummy need for hospital and can you help me prepare it?; what 'naughty' things might a new baby do). She loves the photographs, and it shows breast feeding which she's amazed by! She regularly recites bits of text mixed in with her own thoughts throughout the day, even though we've only read about 5 times now, and only at bedtime... "new babies have a scab that falls off their tummy and their belly button is underneath"; "new babies are very weak and can't lift up their heads". It amazes me! I can understand why the other commentators feel the text might be a bit high-level for 2 year old, although the pictures are great you could always make up your own words... I feel it's set at exactly the right level for my 4 year old though.
