A Little More Emotional
With A Little More Personal [Raw], i was expecting more of the same [sometimes cheesy] over-produced pop/rock anthems similar to that of Lohan's debut album Speak. On this album we see a more mature darker side to Lindsay, she has obviously put a lot of emotion into this record but still managed to make it come accross as generic commercial pop. Lindsay has writing credits on seven of the albums twelve songs, with the rest being written for her and two cover songs. The cover songs being the weakest on the album. Lindsay's voice is strong and gritty, which works with the soft-rock songs. If you're an existing Lohan fan or just looking for a good commercial pop/rock album then purchasing this album is a must for you.
exceeded my expectations
I bought this thinking it wouldn't reach the standard of her first album, Speak. Speak had brilliant songs like Nobody Til You, Over, First and Disconnected on it, and since second albums are sometimes cringingly bad next to the first, i had a feeling this would be the same. But it wasn't.
This Cd really is very good. i love the songs Black Hole, I Live For The Day, If It's Alright and If You Were Me, the latter of which is just incredible.
I'm so glad i bought this, but it's not as if it's really deep apart from the song about her relationship with her father, (Confessions Of A Broken Heart) but it's good soft-rock music for your money and i would definitely recommend it.
Surprisingly Good
I bought her first album and i knew that the music was lightweight but enjoyable. So when i heard that she had released a new album i thought that it would be the same standard - very for the moment music. But i couldn't believe it when i heard it. I couldn't get it out of my head. This album is so so much better than her previous songs with no weak ones like on Speak.
The best song in my opinion is Black Hole as it has such a killer chorus. This is definately one of my top five songs this year. Other stand out tracks include: I want you to want me
A little more personal
Fastlane
Who loves you
A Beautiful Life
This album has provided the biggest shock this year and in the best way possible.
