Customer Reviews
I so want to give it six stars
For starters, Amaral are, Eva Amaral and Juan Aguirre, a seemingly unstoppable songwriting duo that never cease to produce simply stunning top calibre Spanish pop rock.
Much as i would like to heap praise upon the Eva Amaral, the bewitching songstress that fronts the band Amaral, the CD credits would have us believe that both of them are responsible for songwriting. So hats off to the woolly hatted guitarist too.
Pájaros en la cabeza is the fourth and latest of their CD's and carries the hallmark vocals of Eva Amaral along with her ability to convey a wealth of emotions. Without exception all of the songs are excellently crafted, the three single releases are all superb (Universo Sobre Mi, Días de Verano & Marta Sebas, Guille y los demás) the remaining album tracks all have distinct identities, from the introspective "En el Río" to the uplifting and optimistic "Salta" and "Resurrección", a heartfelt tribute to a loved one written and sung in a way that only Eva could.
In terms of defining Amaral, imagine a Brit indie guitar based sound, then imagine it altogether much more musically gratifying, almost orchestrally so. Then suppose this melodic guitar pop rock was fronted by a stunningly capable female vocalist that co-writes all the songs.
Better still, rather than imagine, just buy the CD.
Top album!
As a (poor) intermediate spanish speaker I heard the track "Días de Verano" on an edition of "Puerta del sol" language learning CDs and instantly liked it, enough to buy this album. "En el río" is superb, as are many other tracks. I don't understand all the lyrics yet, but hey that's not an issue with great music like this.
Great !!!!!!
Simply great. It's one of the bests spanish's albums ever.
It's easy to listen because it's very diverse.
It has a flamenco touch in songs like "Dás de verano" and rock (in songs like "Revolución")
El universo sobre mi: 5/5, Really good
Días de verano: 5/5. It's amazing how flamenco and pop can be so fusioned, and don't sound weird at all.
Revolución: 5/5. The best of this album
Mi alma perdida: 4/5.Nice
Marta,Sebas,Guille y los demás: 5/5 Exc.
And a long etc. that makes (without any exception) it their best album yet.
