Having Diabetes Can Be a Positive Thing in your life!
I wish I had this book when, at the age of 14,I was diagnosed withdiabetes (almost two years ago). It has answered all the questions thatran through my mind when I was first diagnosed and in hospital for the"education period". Having said that I am still learing from John Keeler'sfantastic book "Living Life with Diabetes". John puts his life and copingwith diabetes into words that explain, express and paint a clear picutureof what exactly it is like to Live Life with Diabetes. Like John I havemet so many wonderful people through having diabetes and have turned mylife around to eat healthy to exercise and to participate in more sports. My diabetes has also shown me that there are so many caring people in theworld. Like John I have come across ignorance and hostility but most ofall I have come across caring people who ask "are you ok?". His book hasbeen such a great help to me and my family and because of it my siblingstalk more to me about diabetes and finally understand what to watch outfor when I experience a "hypo" etc. John's book is a must for any personwith diabetes no matter what age or gender and also for all family membersand friends who want to understand what diabetes is about. When I firstread this book I wanted to shout from the top of a mountain "buy this bookif you know of anyone with diabetes or if you have diabetes yourself". Ieven use John Keeler's Living Life with Diabetes as a reference book whenplaying sports etc. to help me understand about regulating my insulinbefore and after exercise. I would put this book in the top three books Ihave read and I am never without a book in my hand! Good Luck John withthis book and thank you for the help, confidence and knowledge it gave meand my family. Cian
