Product Description

Michael Jackson The Trial and Triumph of The King of Pop was intended to be released to coincide with MJ s spectacular ''This Is It'' mega concert at London s O2 Arena. However, due to his sad and untimely passing, this film is perhaps even more moving and poignant as it shows that his fans from all over the world were constantly loyal, always believed in his innocence and never gave up hope that he would emerge victorious. Michael Jackson was the world s biggest superstar and perhaps the greatest entertainer of all time. Michael s achievements almost came crashing down during his child molestation trial. This film gives you the insight behind the scenes of the sometimes chaotic and outrageous Michael Jackson trial. Found not guilty by the court of law, survived the tabloid onslaught and negative campaigns, Michael Jackson was on the comeback trail to reclaim his past glory with a concert that was sadly never realised. With over 750 million albums sold worldwide, thirteen Grammy Awards won and where every song released was a massive hit, Michael Jackson will always be remembered as ''The King of Pop'' and his legacy will forever live on. Cast & Crew: Kayne West, Billy Gibbons/ZZ Top, Jon Voight, Fantasia, Mo Nique, Ashford & Simpson, Kim Whitley, Dorien Wilson, Yolanda Adams, Shemar Moore, Terry Lewis, Tom Mesereau, Aphrodite Jones, Linda Deutsch, Jermaine Jackson and Geraldine Hughes

Customer Reviews

truly terrible1
I was stunned by how terrible this DVD was. I bought it expecting an informative, high quality documentary and what I got was the following:
- extremely amateur quality (it looked as though it was recorded on a dodgy, cheap camcorder)
- sensationalist presenting accompanied by sensationist captions, all of which were extremely biased in MJ's favour
- a patronising, irritating presenter
- virtually no footage of Michael Jackson
- no Michael Jackson music
- an hour's worth of inarticulate, often incomprehensible fans talking about how much they love Michael Jackson
I have to say this is one of the most rubbish DVDs I have ever seen, and the makers are clearly cashing in on recent tragic circumstances. Please do not buy.

Drivel1
I cannot believe an international retailer such as Amazon is selling such amateur drivel:
POOR QUALITY PRODUCTION
POOR QUALITY CONTENT

A child could have produced a better product. Don't buy it, I will pay you to have my copy!

A positive account of MJ's trial5
I thought this was a touching and truly poignant account of the King of Pop. Although the DVD doesn't have any of MJ's music on it, the interviews and appearances from the likes of Kanye West, Ashford & Simpson and Tom Mesereau (the lawyer, who in my opinion is an absolute star for having taken on the case) make up for it. I also thought it was really touching to see how many fans were constantly behind MJ and gave him their unwavering support during the trial, be it protesting with placards outside the courtroom or arguing with members of the opposition. Interviewer Pearl Jr at times can be slightly over-the-top, but I'm putting that down to her American character and on the whole she presents the case very well. MJ will be sadly missed, so for all fans out there, I definitely recommend this DVD.
